Our facilitator Ms. Alvarez, has introduced us, some Models such as Hilda Taba, Ralph Tyler’s Model and Kerr Operational Model. Let us begin by having a clear concept of what is Curriculum. Although there are many definition to that word , Ralph Tyler says that it is ’’ the planned and guided experiences and intended learning outcomes formulated through the systematic reconstruction of knowledge and experiences under the auspices of the school, for the learners continuous and willful growth in personal social competence.”  Taba says that Models serve as “guidelines to action.” Taba believes that the curriculum should be designed by the teacher rather than others. Her Model is teacher approach. Her model has an inductive approach. The needs of the students are at the fore front to the curriculum.
On the other hand Tyler’s Model is one of the best know models. He gathers data from the learner (the needs of the learner), subject matter (the nature and structure of knowledge), and Life outside the school (the needs of the society)
Kerr believes that the curriculum process is a very complex set of activities and decisions and they interact a lot. (Objective, content, learning experiences and evaluation)

Very interesting and educational, to know about all the different models. I can honestly say I have learnt a lot on this course given by Ms. Carla.
